Summer Farm Program

BE A FARMER!

CalfatBLF

Get your hands dirty.

Come work with goats, mini donkeys, cows, ducks, chickens and horses. Dig in the garden and learn to use farm tools. At Bonnie Lea Farm, children and teens are compassionate, responsible, confident leaders who learn the farm work ethic.

  • Half-Days: Aimed at the younger animal lover, the Bonnie Lea Farm Summer Farm Program half-day session provides ages 5 and up a chance to work hands on with farm animals and garden.  9am to noon. 5 and 6 year-olds are eligible for half day sessions.
  • Full Days: Aimed at the 5th grade and up animal lover, the Bonnie Lea Farm Summer Farm Program full-day session provides hands on projects and life skills. Teens and preteens are encouraged to join us. Full day participants need stamina to get through a full day. Projects will be chosen based on ages and abilities. Full days end at 3:00 PM.

Daily Activities and Schedule

Participant’s week may include hay rides, feeding and watering chickens, ducks, goats, ponies or cows, bathing an animal, maintaining clean pens, learning proper leading or handling techniques, up to 3 pony/horse rides, farm repairs, gardening, playing in the brook and farm arts & crafts.
