We hope you can join us!
At Bonnie Lea Farm, children and teens are compassionate, responsible, confident leaders who learn the farm work ethic.
We believe the Bonnie Lea experience teaches important values and life skills while having fun. The summer experiences allow complete immersion in the care and nurturing of the horses that depend on us for survival. For over 40 years, kids have grown up at BLF and love to “come home” as often as possible to reconnect. We look forward to your family joining ours.

BLF Summer Program Tips – Please read.
For returning riders, please contact us if you are interested in lessons, showing, or leasing, to get on the schedule. Lease options are already becoming limited. We encourage riders to consider leasing for the spring, summer and fall. The best way to improve your equitation and horsemanship is to ride daily. For those just learning to ride that have not mastered tacking up and the confidence and safety for independent riding, we hope you will join us for half or full day horse program sessions.
Safety is the first priority and students will not be allowed to ride without helmets and proper gear. All students should arrive with their own (properly fitted) helmets. (Please feel free to contact us with questions regarding the purchase of a helmet. Dover Saddlery in Latham NY is able to properly fit helmets. Those who want to show should have a matte black helmet. We may have coupons for Dover available so please ask.) Boots with a small heel are required. Students need long pants for riding. No matter one’s gender, long hair must be tied back and no jewelry should be worn. The number of students per session is limited.
If the summer programs won’t work for you, Bonnie Lea Farm also offers regularly scheduled lessons and pony rides by appointment.
BLF Shows are open to all riders, including beginners. BLF Horse Shows are typically in June and July. Cost is $75 coaching, $75 to $125 horse use (depending on horse), trucking, and entry fees. Ask for our “Showing With BLF” for more details.
We look forward to Showing in 2026. For those interested in PHA shows, multi-day horse show weeks or summer leasing, please speak to Lisa. Larger multi-day shows include Saratoga, GMHA, HITS. The larger shows need advanced planning and registration.
MULTI-DAY AWAY SHOWS
Multi-Day Shows average $1,750-2,500+ plus food and entry fees.
($1,500-2,000 for those in a full lease or who own your horse.)
Commitment must be made well in advance, ideally May 1. Space is limited.
Deposits will be expected for shows that require stalls, and housing accommodations.
We encourage our riders who want to move beyond PHA to attend these shows this year
so we can, as a team, look to other larger shows.
